Hello, Foodies! This very Christmassy recipe is going to amaze both adults and children in your home. Today we are going to prepare a Christmas Tree made of puff pastry and pesto. Its preparation will take you about 15 minutes plus another 20 minutes in the oven. It's ideal to have it as an appetizer or to snack on for 5 or 6 people.
Ingredients for Puff Pastry Christmas Tree for 6 people
- Cherry tomatoes - 1 handful
- Cheese - 1 or 2 slices
- Pesto sauce - 1 cup
- Italian spices - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic spice - 1 tablespoon
- Egg white - 1 piece
- Puff pastry or pizza dough, whichever you prefer.
How to make the recipe Puff Pastry Christmas Tree
- The first thing we will do is cut the dough into a triangle. The two pieces that we have left will be used to form another triangle by joining them in the middle.
- Once these two pieces are joined, it will serve as the base for our Christmas tree. On this base we will pour the pesto sauce which will give it a delicious flavor.
- Once the pesto is well spread, we will put the other triangle of dough that we had cut at the beginning on top.
- We can also take advantage of part of that dough to make several ornaments for our tree. We have taken the opportunity to make a couple of stars that will crown the tree. We have also made some squares to add to the trunk at the bottom.
- Now comes the key parts to make our Christmas Tree spectacular. We are going to imitate the branches of the tree. We will do this by making horizontal cuts on both sides, we are going to twist all these cuts in the same direction.
- This requires a little patience, but the final result is worth it. We have now crowned the tree with stars to give it a very Christmassy touch.
- Now we are going to mix in a bowl an egg yolk, along with Italian spices and garlic powder. With this we will glaze the entire surface and thanks to this it will give it an extra touch of flavor and it will have a spectacular color and flavor after baking.
- Now we put it in the oven for 20 minutes. And the oven should be preheated to 180° C or 355° F.
- Have you seen how spectacular it's turning out? It's a pleasure when you take it out of the oven. But in addition, we are going to give it an even more Christmassy touch. For this we are going to cut cherry tomatoes in half and we will put them everywhere, as if they were Christmas balls.
- And we are also going to cut stars, we are going to do it from a slice of cheese. We have cut them with these cutters that are for cookies, but if you don't have them you can simply cut them with a knife. And that's it!
