A salad suits well any time of the year, a healthy, light recipe that will serve, as our friend Mayte rightly points out, both for a dinner or a starter for a main meal. Its preparation is simple and quick, the great difference that is presented here, is not its preparation (obviously), but the quality of its ingredients, that is what makes the difference in a good salad recipe.

Also, you can opt for another variant of this type of recipes, it is the cucumber and tomato salad.

Ingredients for Tomato and Onion Salad for 4 people

  • Tomatoes – 2 units
  • Small Onion – Half
  • Light Tuna in oil – 1 small can
  • Extra virgin olive oil – To taste
  • Salt – To taste
  • Parsley – To taste
  • Optional: White wine vinegar – To taste
  • Optional: Campo Real Olives – 8 units

How to make the recipe Tomato and Onion Salad

  1. Wash the tomatoes with plenty of water. Then chop the tomato into small pieces or slices, if you opt for cherry tomatoes, it is enough to cut them in half.
  2. Peel and cut the onion in the way you like best, julienne style or chopped in case you don't like to find pieces of onion. If you choose to add olives, add them.
  3. Dress with extra virgin olive oil, it has a more intense flavor and will give a special touch to our salad enhancing its aroma, a splash of Jerez white wine vinegar and a pinch of salt.
  4. Stir the salad with two forks, gathering from bottom to top so that all the dressing is well mixed.
  5. As you can see, with two steps more than enough but no less tasty and appetizing. Enjoy your meal!
