Ingredients for Two-Color Cake for 4 people

  • 3 eggs
  • 250 grams of flour
  • 120 grams of sugar
  • 120 grams of mild-flavored olive oil
  • 70 ml of milk
  • 10 grams of baking powder
  • 12 grams of pure cocoa powder
  • A pinch of salt

How to make the recipe Two-Color Cake

  1. Start by vigorously beating the eggs with the sugar until a homogeneous batter is formed and see it increase in size
  2. Now add the oil and milk, but do it little by little without stopping beating the mixture.
  3. Then add the flour, also little by little and tablespoon by tablespoon while beating at the same time so that it is gradually integrated and forming a homogeneous mixture.
  4. The next step is what gives the name to this recipe, thanks to it we will achieve a striking two-color cake that will leave your guests speechless. It's about dividing the batter into two equal parts by pouring it into two containers. And to one of them, we add the cocoa powder and mix it very well.
  5. Now we prepare the mold where we will make our cake. It should be a mold about 26cm in diameter and we will have to grease and prepare it so that the cake does not stick to us.
  6. And now comes the most important step. We have to pour each of the two mixtures little by little alternately. That is, first, for example, we pour a little of the mixture without chocolate and then a little of the mixture with chocolate and so on until the mold is filled.
  7. Preheat the oven with heat up and down without a fan at 356 degrees.
  8. Once it is hot, put the dough in for about 40 minutes. This time depends on each oven so you should check your cake from time to time to know that it is going well. To do this, prick it with a needle and if it comes out clean it is already done inside.
  9. Finally, let it cool before unmolding.
  10. You now have our homemade two-color cake or zebra cake ready to enjoy!

Notes and Tips

Here are some tips and tricks for preparing a perfect zebra cake:

Use fresh ingredients: It's important to use fresh eggs, milk, and yeast to get a cake with the right texture.

Sift the flour: Sifting the flour will help avoid lumps in the dough and give the cake a better texture.

Use a pastry bag: Using a pastry bag to add the dough of the two colors in the mold will help you achieve a homogeneous distribution and a nicer look.

Don't open the oven many times during cooking: Opening the oven during cooking lets out heat and can cause the cake to not rise properly.

Let it cool before unmolding: It's important to let the cake completely cool before unmolding it; otherwise, it can break.

Try making it and you'll see how it's finger-licking good!
