If you love pizza, today we want to teach you a healthier version. The dough is made with 100% spelt whole grain flour, and as toppings, we've chosen a mix of vegetables that perfectly pair with cheese for baking. This is one of our healthiest and easiest pizza recipes, but not the only one with whole grain dough. One of the highlights is the whole grain pizza with mozzarella, tomato, and pesto due to its simplicity and delicious taste.

Spelt whole grain flour is considered a healthy alternative to the more well-known wheat flour. It stands out for its high protein, mineral, and vitamin content, as well as its anti-inflammatory properties. Moreover, this type of flour tends to be organic since its cultivation is less profitable from a production standpoint.

To make this homemade vegetable pizza even healthier, we recommend choosing your favorite seasonal vegetables. This way, you'll be able to enjoy their full flavor, they'll be at their best for consumption, and you'll also notice that the price is more economical than at any other time.

How to make the recipe Vegetable Pizza with Whole Grain Flour Dough

  1. Once we have the whole grain flour dough ready, we'll preheat the oven to 293ºF. Sprinkle some flour on our dough and roll it out with a rolling pin to the shape we want, in this case round.
  2. Put parchment paper on the oven tray and place the pizza dough on top. Now we'll knead the edge with our fingers to shape it and create a thicker border. Once we have the dough, we'll first spread the tomato sauce.
  3. Then we'll add the vegetables (which we will have previously sliced) on the tomato sauce, so that everything is well balanced. You can also sprinkle some oregano on the vegetables, to taste. And finally, we incorporate the grated cheese over all the ingredients, spread evenly.
  4. Our pizza is now ready to bake. We'll bake it for 30 minutes at 293ºF so it's well cooked and juicy.
